A good 75 is a rare find at the best of times, this particular example represents something of a unicorn. Just 3 owners from new, the first for 11 years the second from 2003 until 2023 before the current owner for the last 2 years. In addition to that she has covered just 71k miles from new, with a large documented history file over 2 inches thick containing everything from old MOT’s, invoices for work & parts, historical photos of the car earlier in its life to print outs of old CAR magazine road tests and technical info from the factory workshop books. This 75 really has been loved throughout her life in a way that most have not.
The 2nd owner had been thorough in his maintenance until she was laid up, this included a complete repaint, rear arch replacement on the nearside in around 2007 and new clutch in 2015, since when only around 2k miles have been covered.
She was laid her up in 2017, five years on she made her way to Alex Jupe Motorsport where a sympathetic recommissioning and detailing was undertaken.
The extensive 2023 recommissioning for the 3rd owner included the following:
- Major service with new cam belt & mechanical cam belt tensioner conversion.
- New water pump and drive belt.
- Oil, filter and coolant change.
- New air filter.
- Refreshing & detailing to the engine bay.
- New AJM silicone breather hose kit.
- New cam cover gaskets & plug well seals.
- New spark plugs.
- Various hoses replaced.
- Extensive detailing and ‘freshening up’ of the underside, which was still wearing its original factory finishes, including respraying in colour matched 2k paint.
- Handling kit comprising lower, progressive rate rear springs, 29mm front anti-roll bar, polyurethane caster & Watts linkage bushes and new O.E. spec shock absorbers all around.
- New Bosch fuel pump, filter & all hoses.
- Reconditioned Revolution RFX alloys wheels with new Toyo tyres.
- Extensive cavity waxing using Dinitrol products to all chassis rails, sills, inner arches etc.
- 12 months MOT.
Shortly after all the above was completed she was returned to us as the owner felt the engine needed ‘freeing up’ to rev that little better, to which end the following was carried out.
- Strip out original cams and fit new C&B fast road cams with all new cam followers.
- Removal of cat, manifolds and remainder of exhaust system.
- CSC stainless steel tubular exhaust manifold & down pipe kit, straight through centre section and rear silencer.
To finish her off she was taken to a the trimmer used by the owner previously for a full new headlining to be custom made and fitted in Alcantara.
The total spend on the last 2 tranches of work was £4816.74. As evidenced by all the work carried out she has been maintained with a ‘no expense spared’ attitude, but has only covered around 1200 miles since the recommissioning was carried out so is still fresh and ready to hit the open road. A change in plans has meant that the owners whole fleet of classics is going, hence the sale.
She comes complete with a FSH comprising a huge A4 ring bound history file with all invoices, old MOT’s etc dating back to the start of the 2nd ownership in 2003 and the original book pack complete with service book stamped from new to 40k miles at the end of the 1st owners tenure.
Supplied with 12 months MOT from point of sale. I really feel this is an unrepeatable opportunity to own one of the finest 75 3.0’s in existence in the UK.
