We are very pleased to offer this real rarity, one of just two known genuine Turbodelta Alfetta GTV’s in the UK. A very special car, one that would be the perfect addition to any Alfa or homologation special collection.
Alfas tuning arm, Autodelta, built just 400 Turbodelta GTV’s to homologate the cars for Group 4 rallying. All Turbodeltas produced were standard 2.0 GTV’s taken from the Arese production line and sent to Autodelta for conversion. This included the addition of a KKK turbocharger & special ‘pressurised’ Dellorto carburettors along with vents cut into the inner wings and bonnet to aid cooling, the latter of which were all painted matt black, no matter what colour the rest of the car was. Inside the only tell tale giveaway was between the centrally mounted dial cluster and driver facing rev counter…. a turbo boost gauge!
‘Our’ example was imported to the UK from Germany by her collector owner in 2021. She has clearly had a lot spent on keeping her up to scratch over the years, as evidenced by the photos. The exterior paint has a few marks here and there and is not a ‘concours’ standard job, however presents well. The underside however is excellent, clearly having has much time spent with all mechanicals stripped off and and refinishing properly in stone chip paint and body colour. The last work in Germany was carried out in May 2020 at 50500 kms by greatly respected Alfa specialists Formula GT, this included:
- New front brake callipers & pads.
- New spark plugs.
- All fluids & filters changed.
- 4x new Hankook tyres.
Since arriving in the UK a good deal has been spent in keeping her ‘ready to use’. This work has all been carried out by our sister business Alex Jupe Motorsport and includes:
- Removal of the engine to rectify numerous oil leaks from old gaskets & seals.
- Strip down of engine, clean and check & reassemble.
- Cylinder head stripped, valves & seats recut, head skimmed and reassembled with new stem seals.
- All gaskets & oil seals replaced, including correct spec special order Turbo head gasket from Italy.
- New engine mounts & bell housing bush.
- Carburettors rebuilt with correct Turbo carb rebuild kit.
- Bare metal repaint of the bonnet to rectify splitting paint.
- Fuel system rebuild including new Bosch pump & filter.
- New rear brake callipers,
- 123 programmable boost distributor & matching ignition coil.
- Rolling road set up of carbs and ignition.
- New battery.
Despite being used little since arrival in the UK the owner has treated maintenance in a ‘no expense spared’ fashion, as befits such a special car, with a total spend of just over £20,ooo putting her in the turn key condition she sits today.
Although exempt, she will be supplied with 12 months MOT and oil & filter change. All invoices for the work carried out since being in the UK and a comprehensive paperwork relating to importation into the UK are presented in an A4 file.
