Another GTV6 that has returned to the AJM roost, we have sold this lovely example to her last 2 owners, both of whom have kept her for a number of years; the current owner for 11 years the previous for 6 years. She has an interesting history, the previous owner having been part of a group of Alfa owning friends in the early to mid 90’s, 2 of whom owned this very car back then and forming part of his decision to buy it some 13 years later.

In 1995 she was purchased by a well known restorer of MG’s who hated MG’s but loved Alfa’s! Over a period of 13 years he restored the by then tired body to the condition she still presents in to this day. Having completed the restoration in 2008 he came to me to sell the car for him as he didn’t have the time to use it, by now with a young family as well as his business to run. Being in the specialist restoration trade, and at a time when you could still buy most GTV6 body panels new, he did a rather thorough job of her. This included the following replacement metal work:

1. 2x new front wings.
2. New upper front panel.
3. New lower front panel.
4. New outer sills.
5. Localised metal work repairs to inner sills, inner wings, rear chassis rails, battery tray and spare wheel well.

Following all the metal repairs she was treated to a full bare metal repaint in her original colour of Rosso AR530 before reassembly.

The current owner has further greatly improved her during his time with the car, bills on file are testament to that and include the following:

1. Fitting of the later (and much more comfortable) Recaro black pinstripe interior.
2. New rear brake callipers, discs & pads.
3. AJM engine cooling fan kit conversion.
4. AJM fast road handling kit with 29mm front Anti-roll bar, lower slightly firmer rear springs, caster arm ball joint conversion and Koni Sport shocks all around.
5. Polyurethane Watts linkage bush kit.
6. New rear anti-roll bar drop link & bush kit.
7. Laser geometry set up.
8. Image 3-piece split rim wheels 7×16 front and 8×16 rear in a custom colour with Michelin PS3 tyres.
9. Gearbox conversion to a 2.0 Twin Spark 75 unit with better ratios and LSD, this was fully rebuilt before fitting with new inner and outer synchromesh rings.
10. Ansa rear silencer with straight through centre pipe.
11. Removal, preparation and repainting in correct Alfa colour of all body plastic and trim parts.
12. Stripping of all loose old sealer/underseal from under car. Clean up and treat any surface rust with rust killer before painting in Bonda Anti-rust primer. Cutting out, fabricating and welding new metal into 2x localised areas.
13. Full Dinitrol anti-rust treatment using 4941/CAR underbody wax and 1000 & ML cavity waxes.
14. Paint & fit of wrap around aluminium wheel arch liners.
15. Cooling system refresh with most hoses replaced with new.
16. Replacement of both front wheel bearings.
17. Supply and fit AJM big brake kit.
18. Reconditioned alternator.
19. Paint correction and ceramic coating by AJM Classics.

On top of these significant works she has of course had regular general servicing. The last major service was in 2021 and included a cam belt, spark plugs, engine oil & filter, air filter since. Barely 700 miles have been covered since.

Over the current 11 year ownership she has covered only 3k miles, but with invoices totaling over £27,000 to make her what she is today. Having enjoyed getting her to the condition and spec he wanted she is now for sale due to impending retirement abroad.

An advisory free MOT runs out July 2026, she will therefore be supplied with a fresh 12 months on purchase for the new owner, along with an oil & filter service.

Supplied complete with a comprehensive A4 ring bound file with all old MOT’s dating from 1991 and detailed & extensive invoices back to 1989. Also present are hand written historical notes detailing mileage and when certain jobs were done, these & the MOT’s indicate the current mileage to be 112,497.
